HOW THIS WORKS & OFFICIAL RULES

Read the details on this website, see all the details on the property, then in 300 words or less, write an essay about why you believe you would like to live in the Emerald City in the Amazing Greenlake Neighborhood. Your essay must be printed legibly or typewritten, because if we can't read it, then it can't be judged and will not be a valid entry. Send your original essay along with your entry fee of $250.00 via cashier's check or money order ONLY. No personal checks will be accepted.

THE ESSAYS

Essays will be judged on originality, human interest, content, expression of thought, creativity, etc. The essays will be judged and the winner notified within 15 days of the deadline.

Relatives and close friends of the contest organizers are not allowed to participate in this contest. The best essay will win this Seattle Dream Home with no mortgage attached!

Should the minimum number of entries not be received, or should the contest be cancelled for any reason, all entry fees will be returned less a $20 fee for contest, escrow, and processing costs. All entry fees will be held in a registered escrow account until the winner has been notified via telephone, email, and/or registered mail. Title Insurance will be provided on the property to the winner in order to ensure a clear and legal transfer of title on the prize property. All other closing costs including, but not limited to, excise tax and/or escrow reserve for future property taxes will be the sole responsibility of the winner(s). Furthermore, we are in no way responsible for applicable state, county, or federal income taxes on the prize property.   

Odds of winning this Dream Home will be 1 in approximately 3500. Entries will be accepted through 5:00 p.m. PDT on August 31, 2003. The deadline may be shortened or extended if deemed necessary by the property owners. Entrants may re-enter as many times as they like, but each essay must have variable content and each must contain the entire package listed below or it will be returned:

The winner must be eligible to legally own real estate in the State of Washington and be at least 18 years of age with valid identification.  

This is truly an essay contest of skill and not of chance. Give this opportunity your BEST effort.
